Removal And Installation: Removal
- If needed, remove the components to access the battery. Refer to BATTERY, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Disconnect the two-pin (Power and LIN) Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS) (2) wire harness connector (1).
When removing the IBS from the negative battery post remember to stabilize the IBS (1) so that it does not rotate.
- Remove the ground terminal nut (2).
- Position aside the negative battery cable ground terminal eyelet (3).
- Loosen
the captive nut (1).
NOTE:Do not remove the captive nut, doing so will cause the stud on IBS pole clamp to break.
NOTE:Never pry the IBS to remove it from the pole clamp. This will damage the IBS and will need to be replaced.
- Using the appropriate battery terminal puller, remove the IBS from the negative battery post.
