Removal And Installation - AWD: Removal

  1. Raise and support vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .

  2. Loosen the band clamp nut (1) at the muffler pipe to cross-under pipe connection then using the (special tool #2049500110, Pliers, Exhaust System PSA) to spread open the exhaust clamp.
  3. Separate the muffler pipe from the cross-under pipe.
    CAUTION:

    Do not use any tools to remove the rubber isolators, remove by hand only. Soapy water or silicone based lubricant spray may be used to assist removal/installation of isolators. DO NOT use a petroleum based lubricant on the isolators, as damage to the rubber material can occur.

  4. Remove the support isolators (2) from the muffler pipe assembly.

  5. Remove the rear sway bar bushing bracket fasteners (1, 3) and lower the sway bar (2).

  6. Remove the support isolators (1, 2) from the muffler pipe assembly.

  7. Remove the support isolator (1) from the muffler pipe assembly.

  8. Remove the muffler pipe assembly (1) from the vehicle.
