Removal And Installation: Installation
- Apply assembly lube on the lip of the NEW seal (1) to aid installation onto the output shaft.
- Place the NEW
seal (1) in position on the Power Transfer Unit (PTU) output shaft.
- Using tool (special tool #10117, Installer, Seal) (2), install the NEW
seal (1) into the PTU housing.
- Place the dust deflector (1) in position on the rear output shaft (2).
- Using tool (special tool #10518, Installer, Oil Slinger) (1), install the dust deflector (2).
- Install the O-ring seal (1) in the groove in the rear output shaft (2).
- Install the circlip (2) in the groove in the rear output shaft (1).
- Install the propeller shaft in the vehicle. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Fill the PTU to the proper level. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
- Road test the vehicle to verify the repair.
