Removal And Installation: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  3. Disconnect the evaporator purge solenoid wire harness connector (1).

  4. Remove the purge vapor line quick connect (1) from the purge solenoid. Refer to FITTING, QUICK CONNECT, STANDARD PROCEDURE .

  5. Remove the purge hose (2) from the intake manifold.
  6. Remove the purge solenoid (1) from the bracket.
