Removal And Installation: Installation

CAUTION:

Ensure that sensor mounting surface on bearing is clean before sensor installation.

NOTE:

Apply bearing grease to sensor head shaft and O-ring before installation.

  1. Carefully install the wheel speed sensor in the hub and bearing.
  2. Install the wheel speed sensor mounting bolt (2) and tighten to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  3. Engage the wheel speed sensor wire into the retainer (1) on the knuckle.

  4. Connect the wheel speed sensor wire harness connector (1).
  5. Attach the wheel speed sensor wire retainers (3) on the strut and attach the wheel speed sensor wire retainers (2) to the brake line.

  6. Install the splash shield (1) and the splash shield mounting bolts (2) tighten to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  7. Install the front brake rotor. Refer to ROTOR, BRAKE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  8. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  9. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
  10. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector to the negative battery cable.
  11. Perform the Diagnostic Verification Test and clear any faults that are present. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TEST .
