Theory Of Operation

The Body Control Module (BCM) monitors door lock and unlock inputs from the Remote Keyless Entry FOBIK, Driver Door Module (DDM) and Passenger Door Module (PDM). When the BCM receives a door lock or unlock CAN Bus message, the BCM activates the integral lock or unlock relays, to the bidirectional Driver, Passenger, and Rear Door Lock Motors (integral to the Door Latches) for 370 milliseconds, before returning to the neutral position.

Door Lock:  When the Body Control Module (BCM) receives a request to lock all Doors, the BCM provides a voltage signal to the Door Lock Relay Control circuit and a ground signal to the Front Driver Door Unlock circuit and the Passenger Doors Unlock Relay Control circuit, to actuate the Driver, Passenger, and Rear Door Lock Motors to the lock position.

Driver Door Unlock:  When the Body Control Module (BCM) receives a request to unlock the Driver Door only, the BCM provides a ground signal to the Door Lock Relay Control circuit and a voltage signal to the Front Driver Door Unlock circuit, to actuate the Driver Door Lock Motor to the unlock position.

All Doors Unlock:  When the Body Control Module (BCM) receives a request to unlock all Doors, the BCM provides a ground signal to the Door Lock Relay Control circuit and a voltage signal to the Front Driver Door Unlock circuit and the Passenger Doors Unlock Relay Control circuit, to actuate the Driver, Passenger, and Rear Door Lock Motors to the unlock position.
