Description And Operation: Description
All vehicles equipped with power sliding doors will have two power sliding door drive assemblies. One drive assembly for the left sliding door and one for the right. The drive assemblies are mounted in the vehicle body cavity where the manual lower sliding door track would normally be located. The drive assemblies are attached to the sliding door lower hinge via a drive bracket (also referred to as the drive tensioner). This bracket is attached to a cable that moves fore and aft to open and close the power sliding doors.
The power sliding door drive assembly consists of the following parts:
- The sliding door track (2)
- The power sliding door drive cable, drive tensioner and pulleys (1)
- The power sliding door motor (3)
- The Power Sliding Door Control Module (PSDM) (5)
- The power sliding door drive assembly wire harnesses (4)
The following are the serviceable components of the power sliding door drive assembly:
- The PSDM
- The power sliding door motor assembly (not serviced)
- The lower door track, cable and motor
