DETERMINE IF THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) OR SOFTWARE IS FACTORY AUTHORIZED

NOTE:

Use information from MOPAR Star Parts or MOPAR Performance/Accessories to help verify if a PCM or software is factory authorized.

With the Scan Tool, verify if the PCM or software is factory authorized.
NOTE:
It is important to use the Scan tool to read the PCM part number and software number, because the part labels may not match the true part number or software in the PCM.
Using DealerConnect, verify that the sales codes for the vehicle indicate that correct factory authorized performance parts/kits have been added to the vehicle.
Is the PCM or software factory authorized?

Yes
- No repair is needed.
No
- Inform the Owner of the vehicle that an unauthorized PCM or software is installed. Note information on the repair order.
