Theory Of Operation

The Body Control Module (BCM) monitors the Vacuum Cleaner On/Off Switch, through the Vacuum Cleaner Switch Control circuit. A ground is provided to the Vacuum Cleaner On/Off Switch through the wiring harness, to the body sheet metal.

When the normally open Vacuum Cleaner On/Off Switch is activated, the switch closes and a ground signal is sent to the BCM. When the BCM receives this ground signal, the BCM provides a voltage output, through the Vacuum Cleaner Relay Control circuit, to the Vacuum Cleaner Relay, in the Power Distribution Center (PDC) Assembly. This voltage output is also sent to the Vacuum Cleaner On/Off Switch, for the illumination of the Vacuum Cleaner ON indicator. When the Vacuum Cleaner Relay is activated, a voltage output is provided from the relay to the Vacuum Cleaner Assembly, through the Vacuum Cleaner Feed circuit, which activates the Vacuum Cleaner system. A ground is provided to the Vacuum Cleaner Assembly through the wiring harness, to the body sheet metal.
