Theory Of Operation
The purpose of the diagnostic is to detect range and rationality failures of the Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor. The Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor detects actuation of the Dog Clutches A and F. When both Dog Clutches A and F are in a stable end position, the diagnostic performs the following checks:
Range Check
- The Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor output is compared to a minimum and maximum threshold at the boundary of the normal operating range.
Gradient Check
- The rate of change of the Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor output is compared to a maximum value within the normal operating range.
