Theory Of Operation

The Blind Spot Warning Indicator in each mirror is controlled by its accompanying Door Module. Anytime blind spot detection is unavailable or blocked, the Blind Spot Warning Indicators in both side Mirror LEDs will be illuminated.

The Left Blind Spot Sensor (LBSS) is the master module of the Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) system. The LBSS communicates the status of both sensors on the CAN IHS bus to the Radio, Door Modules and Instrument Cluster.
