Description And Operation: Operation
- The two momentary, push button-type rear heated seat switches provide a hardwired resistance signal to the applicable rear door module (left or right side).
- The rear door module sends a message over the Controller Area Network-Interior High Speed (CAN-IHS) data bus network to the Comfort Seat Wheel Module (CSWM).
- The CSWM sends a CAN-IHS signal to the applicable rear door module.
- The rear door module then energizes the heating element for the selected seat.
- The CSWM directly provides power to the rear seat heating elements in the seat cushions and backs for seat heating.
- Light Emitting Diodes (LED) in each switch indicate the level of heat in use. The rear seat switch LEDs are controlled by the applicable rear door module.
- The two LED indicator lamps and the incandescent bulb in each heated seat switch cannot be repaired. If the indicator lamps or back lighting bulb are inoperative or damaged, the individual heated seat switch must be replaced.
The rear heated seat switches are diagnosed using a scan tool or. Refer to REAR LEFT DOOR DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX or REAR RIGHT DOOR DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX .
