Outer Tie Rod End: Installation

Install the outer tie rod on the inner tie rod end, check that the length of the threads is the same as measured during the removal.

Install the outer tie rod end (2) to the knuckle, and start the tie rod mounting fastener (3) on the stud. While holding the tie rod end stud with a wrench, tighten to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
Tighten the tie rod jam fastener (1) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
Install the front tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
Perform wheel alignment. Refer to WHEEL ALIGNMENT, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
