The mode door actuator used in the Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system, is a reversible, 12 volt Direct Current (DC) servo motor (3), that is mechanically connected to the three mode-air doors. The mode door actuator is located on the upper left side of the HVAC housing.

The mode door actuator is contained within a black molded plastic housing with an integral wire connector receptacle (4). An output shaft (2) with splines connect it to the mode door linkage and integral mounting tabs (1) allow the actuator to be secured to the HVAC housing. The mode door actuator requires mechanical indexing to the mode door linkage and is electronically calibrated by the HVAC module.

The A/C heater control in the Integrated Center Stack (ICS) Module must be calibrated each time an actuator motor is replaced. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
