Removal And Installation: Removal
WARNING:
The A/C system contains refrigerant under high pressure. Repairs should only be performed by qualified service personnel. Serious or fatal injury may result from improper service procedures.
- Remove engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Recover the refrigerant from the refrigerant system. Refer to PLUMBING, FRONT, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Remove the nut (3) that secures the Refrigerant Lines (2) to the Expansion Valve (1).NOTE:
May have to loosen the A/C line bundle to firewall nuts to gain enough movement to remove expansion valve.
- Disconnect the Refrigerant Lines from the Expansion Valve (1). Remove and discard
the O-ring seals.
- Remove the two bolts (3) that secure the A/C Expansion Valve (2) to the Evaporator Tapping Block (1).
- Remove the A/C Expansion Valve (2) from the Evaporator Tapping Block. Remove and discard the O-ring seals.
- Install plugs in, or tape over the opened refrigerant line fittings and the evaporator and expansion valve ports.
