Removal And Installation: Installation
- Install the carbon canister. Slide the canister behind the nuts (3), then tighten the nuts (1 and 3) to the proper specifications. Refer to EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect the Evaporative System Integrity Monitor (ESIM) switch wire harness connector (2).
- Connect canister tube quick connect fitting (1) and purge tube quick connect fitting (2).
- Remove the filter hose off the ESIM port and attach the EELD (Evaporative Emissions Leak Detector) hose to the ESIM port to check for Leaks.
- Connect the filter hose to the ESIM.
- Use the scan tool to run the Forced Monitor Test to verify system function.
- Install the left rear wheelhouse splash shield. Refer to SHIELD, SPLASH, REAR WHEELHOUSE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
