Removal And Installation: Removal
CAUTION:
When removing the fuel supply line from the fuel inlet tube at the fuel rail, care must be taken that the fuel inlet tube is not being over-flexed. Damage to the fuel rail inlet tube may occur.
WARNING:
The fuel system is under constant pressure even with engine off. Before servicing the fuel rail, fuel system pressure must be released.
- Perform the Fuel System Pressure Release procedure. Refer to FUEL DELIVERY, GAS, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
- Remove the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
.
- Disconnect the Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor (FRPS) wire harness connector (1).
- Disconnect the fuel supply line (2) at the FRPS. Refer to FITTING, QUICK CONNECT, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Disconnect the fuel supply hose (2) from the fuel rail and remove the FRPS assembly. Refer to FITTING, QUICK CONNECT, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
