Removal And Installation: Upstream: Removal

LEFT SIDE 

WARNING:

The exhaust pipes and catalytic converter become very hot during engine operation. Allow the engine to cool before removing the oxygen sensor.

  1. Remove the supplemental battery. Refer to BATTERY, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  2. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor wire harness connector (1).
  3. Remove the cable tie securing the wire harness at the EGR cooler tube.
  4. Remove the left side oxygen sensor (2).
  5. Clean the threads using an appropriate tap.

RIGHT SIDE 

  1. Loosen the clamp and remove the intake air hose from the resonator.
  2. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.

  3. Disconnect the right side oxygen sensor wire harness connector (1).
  4. Remove the right upstream oxygen sensor (2).
  5. Clean the threads using an appropriate tap.
