Removal And Installation: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  3. Loosen the clamp (1) and remove the hose from the resonator.

  4. Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the Inlet Air Temperature (IAT) sensor.
  5. Disengage the wire harness retainer (2) from the resonator.

  6. Remove the bolt (1) from the resonator.
  7. Loosen the clamp (2) at the throttle body hose. Pull the resonator straight up off of the two locating pins on the right cylinder head cover. Disengage and remove the resonator from the throttle body inlet.

  8. If required, remove the IAT sensor from the resonator by turning the sensor 1/4 turn in the counter - clockwise direction.
