Lower Intake Manifold: Removal

Release the fuel system pressure. Refer to FUEL DELIVERY, GAS, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
Remove the upper intake manifold. Refer to MANIFOLD, INTAKE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

Remove the insulator (1) from the left cylinder head cover.

Disconnect the fuel supply hose (1) from the fuel rail inlet. Refer to FITTING, QUICK CONNECT, STANDARD PROCEDURE .

Disconnect the fuel injector wire harness connectors (1) and remove the wire harness assembly from the cylinder head covers on each side of the engine, then position the wire harness aside.

Remove the bolts (1) then lift the fuel rail and fuel injectors from the lower intake manifold.

Using the sequence shown in illustration, remove the bolts and lower intake manifold.

Inspect the six lower intake manifold to cylinder head gaskets, and replace only if necessary.
