Removal And Installation: Thermostat: Installation
- Clean the mating surfaces on the timing cover and thermostat housing.
- Install a NEW
thermostat housing gasket.
- Install the thermostat housing (3) and tighten the bolts (2) finger tight.
- Using the tighten sequence shown in illustration tighten the bolts the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the coolant hose (1) onto the thermostat housing.
- Connect the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor wire harness connector (1).
- Install the upper radiator hose (2) onto the thermostat housing.
- Fill the cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Connect the negative battery cable.
- Run the engine until it reaches normal operating temperature. Check the cooling system for leaks and correct fluid level. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
