Removal And Installation: Installation

NOTE:

Torque all fasteners with the vehicle on the ground at ride height.

Install the upper shock absorber mount (3) to the shock absorber (2).
Install the shock absorber to shock mount mounting fastener (4) and using special tool (special tool #2027800020, Kit, Remover - Installer Shock / Strut) tighten to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
Install the shock absorber upper mounting fasteners (1) Do not tighten at this time.

Install the lower shock absorber to knuckle fastener (1) Do not tighten at this time.
Remove the jack (2) from under the knuckle.
Tighten the shock absorber to body fasteners to the proper torque specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
Tighten the shock absorber to knuckle mounting fasteners to the proper torque specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
Reinstall the rear wheelhouse splash shield. Refer to SHIELD, SPLASH, REAR WHEELHOUSE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
