Removal And Installation: Installation

NOTE:

Torque all fasteners with the vehicle on the ground at ride height. 

  1. Position a suitable jack under the spring link.

  2. Install the lower isolator (4) to the striker by aligning the striker alignment pin (3) with the alignment hole in the lower isolator.
  3. Install the lower isolator (4) with the striker into the spring link by aligning the striker alignment pin (1) to the alignment hole (2) in the spring link.

  4. Install the jounce bumper into the upper isolator making sure that the notch on the jounce bumper (4) aligns with the notch on upper isolator.
  5. Install the upper isolator and jounce bumper to the spring (1) by aligning the notch on the upper isolator (3) with the end of the coil spring (1).
  6. Install the jounce bumper, isolator and spring (1) to the spring link by aligning the end of the coil spring with the notch on lower isolator (2).

  7. Raise the jack up to align the spring link adjustable cam fastener hole, using an appropriate tool (2) to apply pressure downward to align the holes up and install the adjustable cam fastener (1) Do not tighten the fastener at this time. 
  8. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  9. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
  10. Position the vehicle on an alignment rack. Raise vehicle as necessary to access mounting fasteners.
  11. Tighten the spring link to knuckle fastener to the proper torque specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
    NOTE:

    Align the adjustable cam fastener with the location marked in the removal process for a starting point before alignment.

  12. Tighten the spring link to crossmember fastener to the proper torque specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  13. Perform four wheel alignment. Refer to WHEEL ALIGNMENT, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
