Theory Of Operation

The Brake Pressure Sensor is located internally in the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU). It interfaces directly with the ABS Module through spring loaded contacts. This is why it is imperative that at the end of the diagnostic procedure, if it is determined that the unit is to be replaced the entire unit needs to be replaced and not separated. This ensures the unit can be diagnosed as to a sensor failure or an internal connection failure.
