Removal And Installation: Removal

NOTE:

Note that the cable has a white end and a black end, and must be installed in the same orientation.

  1. With the seat in the upright position, locate the white cable end (2) under the rear of the seat.
  2. Using a suitable tool (1) pull down on the cable end to unclip it.
  3. Lower the seat into the floor.

  4. Using a trim stick, release the clips and remove the hinge cover (1).
  5. Using a trim stick, release the clips and loosen the leg cover (3), then remove the seat panel (2).

  6. Using a hook tool, release all the seat cushion cover retainers (1).
    NOTE:

    It is easier to loosen the seat cover if the seat is raised slightly.

  7. Pull the seat cover (3) from around the trim support (2).
  8. Lift the trim support at the front (1), then push rearward and remove it from the frame.
    NOTE:

    Be careful not to damage the cable, if it is to be reused.

  9. Using a flat bladed tool and hammer, drive the pulley (2) out of the seat frame. DISCARD  the pulley, and make sure the spacer (3) does not fall out or get lost.

  10. Unclip the opposite cable end (1), that is black, and remove the pulley (2) as described in the previous step. DISCARD  the pulley (2), and make sure the spacer below it does not fall out or get lost.
  11. Slide the cable from the guide tube and remove.
