DESCRIPTION
Optional Vented Seats
The Ventilated Seat System:
- Provides front seat ventilation, meaning air is drawn into the seat and past the passenger, a design that ensures faster cooling of occupants.
- Air is drawn via two vented seat fans. There is one fan in the seat back (1) and there is one fan in the seat bottom (3).
- Offers two levels of cooling
- Is controlled through:
- Vented seat switches: (incorporated into center stack display)
Remote Start Heated/Vented Seats
On models equipped with remote start, the heated steering wheel and heated seats can be programmed to come on automatically during remote start operation in cold weather.
When this feature is selected, the driver's heated seat and heated steering wheel will automatically turn on when temperatures are below 40°F (4.4°C). When temperatures are above 80°F (26.7-°C) the driver vented seat will turn on.
OPERATION
Front Ventilated Seat System Operation
The driver and passenger seat ventilation system is also controlled by the Comfort Seat Wheel Module (CSWM).
The vented seat fans are powered by a fuse located in the Power Distribution Center (PDC).
- Ventilated seat button is selected from Disassociated Center Stack Display (DCSD), generating a CAN-IHS bus message.
- The CSWM:
- Receives the vented seat request from the CAN-IHS bus
- Broadcasts a confirmation of actuation message over the CAN-IHS bus
- Provides output to designated seat(s)
