Removal And Installation: Removal
NOTE:
Lock cylinder is only present on the front driver door. The remaining doors are equipped with a delete cap. The delete caps are removed/installed similar to the lock cylinder.
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Remove the protective plug used to cover the slide plate screw (2) located rearward of the door lock cylinder/delete cap.
- Using a suitable tool (1), turn the screw (2) counter-clockwise to move the slide plate forward in the outside door handle bracket. Do not attempt to remove the slide plate screw.
- Continue to turn the screw while lightly pulling on the door handle cap (1), until the cap is removed.
- Separate the lock cylinder (1) from the cap (2).
