Removal And Installation: Removal
NOTE:
Observe all warnings for seat belt retractor removal and installation. Refer to RETRACTOR, SEAT BELT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the fastener from the lower seat belt anchor. Refer to RETRACTOR, SEAT BELT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the fastener cover (1) then remove the fastener securring the D-pillar trim panel (2).
- Using a trim stick or equivalent, release the retaining clips at the rear and top of the D-pillar trim panel.
- Using a trim stick release the bottom of the D-pillar trim panel from the quarter trim panel, then pull at the front edge to release the front retaining clips.
- If servicing the left side D-pillar, disconnect the liftgate switch.
- Using a flat bladed tool, press the tab to disengage the airbag tether and slide it out of D-pillar trim panel.
- If necessary to remove the C-pillar extension (1), open the coat hook (2) and remove the screw (3).NOTE:
On the left side the C-pillar extension is part of the D-pillar trim.
- Using a trim stick or equivalent, remove the C-pillar extension trim panel.
- If necessary to remove the D-pillar extension (1), first remove the rear duct tube and the screw (2).
- Remove the curtain airbag push-fastener that is installed through the D-pillar extension, then unclip and lower the extension to remove.
