Diagnostic Test

  1. READ AND RECORD DTCS AND ENVIRONMENTAL DATA - ERASE DTCS AND CHECK FOR DTC TO RETURN 
    1. With the scan tool, read DTCs in all Electronic Control Units (ECUs) and record on the repair order.
    2. NOTE: The Radio must be on. 

      NOTE: A front door must remain open whenever checking or erasing RADIO DTCs. 

    3. With the scan tool, run a Vehicle Scan Report, or record the Environmental Data related to the DTCs.
    4. With the scan tool, erase all DTCs.
    5. Turn the ignition off for a minimum of 10.0 seconds.
    6. Turn the ignition on.
    7. Using the recorded Environmental Data and the When Monitored Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
    8. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
    NOTE:

    Make sure the Radio is turned on.

    NOTE:

    A front door must remain open whenever checking or erasing RADIO DTCs.

    Did the DTC return?

    Yes 

    • Go To  2

    No 

  2. CHECK THE BCM 

    Is the BCM active on the bus?

    Yes 

    • Go To  3

    No 

    • Perform the No Response From ECU appropriate diagnostic procedure.
  3. CHECK THE OPERATION OF THE BCM 
    1. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
    2. Check for any communication and configuration DTCs set against the BCM.

      Were there any communication or configuration DTCs set against the BCM?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Go To  4
  4. CHECK THE PCM 

    Is the PCM active on the bus?

    Yes 

    • Go To  5

    No 

    • Perform the No Response From ECU appropriate diagnostic procedure.
  5. CHECK THE OPERATION OF THE PCM 
    1. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
    2. Check for any communication and configuration DTCs set against the PCM.

      Were there any communication or configuration DTCs set against the PCM?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Go To  6
  6. CHECK THE CONFIGURATION OF THE RADIO 
    1. With the scan tool, check the Radio for Configuration DTCs.

      Are any Configuration DTCs set in the Radio?

      Yes 

      • Configure the Radio as necessary in accordance with the Service Information.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

      No 

      • Replace the RADIO in accordance with the service information.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
