    NOTE:

    • Before testing, check the AUX port, USB port and SD slot for damage or debris inside the ports and device connectors that can cause concerns with system operation.
    • Use a known good compatible device and USB cable that works on a similar system when testing for concerns.
    • Verify that no other devices are connected to the system during testing.
    • The Media hub (with USB, AUX, SD slot) can be serviced separately from the radio.

    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Inspect the connectors at the radio and Media Hub.

  3. CHECK THE MEDIA HUB CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the Radio harness connector and the Media hub connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the :
      • (X486) Aux Audio Left circuit between the Radio harness connector and the Media Hub connector.
      • (X487) Aux Audio Right circuit between the Radio harness connector and the Media Hub connector.
      • (X488) Aux Audio Reference circuit between the Radio harness connector and the Media Hub connector.

      • Other signs of water intrusion.
      • Weather seal damage (if equipped).
      • Bent terminals.
      • Overheating due to a poor connection (terminal may be discolored due to excessive current draw).
      • Terminals that have been pushed back into the connector cavity.
      • Perform a terminal drag test on each connector terminal to verify proper terminal tension.

Repair any conditions that are found.

    5. Reconnect all Radio harness connectors. Be certain that all harness connectors are fully seated and the connector locks are fully engaged.
    6. Reconnect all in-line harness connectors (if equipped). Be certain that all connectors are fully seated and the connector locks are fully engaged.
