Vehicles equipped with a power liftgate utilize a chime (1). The chime is a small cylindrical shaped electrical component mounted on the lower right D-Pillar assembly under the right quarter trim panel. The chime produces the audible chime sound heard at the rear of the vehicle at the start of a power liftgate cycle.
The chime cannot be adjusted or repaired and if damaged or inoperative must be replaced.
