Removal And Installation: Removal
- Open the liftgate.
- Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
- Remove the liftgate trim panel and the appropriate upper liftgate trim cover panel. Refer to PANEL, TRIM, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
.
- Disconnect the pinch sensor (1) wire harness connector (2).
- Remove the two-piece retainers (1) holding the pinch sensor to liftgate. These can be reused if disassembled properly.
- Disengage the retaining clip at the top of the pinch sensor.
- Feed the pinch sensor wire harness out of the wire harness routing hole in the liftgate and remove the sensor from the vehicle.
