NOTE: This bulletin supersedes Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 24-006-23, date of issue June 30, 2023, which should be removed from your files. No revisions are highlighted with **asterisks** deletion of verbiage in affected vehicle section only.
NOTE: This Informational bulletin applies to 2021-2024 Stellantis vehicles equipped with gasoline or diesel engines.
NOTE: Alfa Romeo based vehicles do not have factory fill dye.
This applies to all ex-FCA vehicles, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and RAM brand vehicles which have a factory fill of dye, if the system has a leak prior to allowing the system to run for 10 or more minutes with full compressor duty cycle, the dye will not have circulated through the system. To state Alfa Romeo vehicles will require dye to be added.

DISCUSSION

When an Air Conditioning functional issue is being diagnosed, The First step is to perform the A/C performance test outlined in Service Library 24 - Heating and Air Conditioning/Diagnosis and Testing A/C Performance.

All Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and RAM brand vehicles leave the factory with dye added to the receiver dryer. Because a new vehicle may have not had enough time to circulate the factory dye it is best to add liquid dye when low refrigerant is found with low time in service.

The vehicles A/C system will need to be operated to circulate the dye, 10 minutes of compressor on time is sufficient. Followed by time to find and repair the leak prior to returning the vehicle to the customer.

If the A/C performance test finds the system is operating within Service Library defined parameters, please review customer expectations, customer settings, and compare this to other like equipped vehicles.

Due to this we have removed the 24-01-12-01 R1234YF-Performance Test and Recharge, no leak found LOP.
