Main Control Cover: Removal

  1. 1.

    With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. REFER to Jacking and Lifting , Lifting Points.

  1. 2.

    Remove the ACL. REFER to Intake Air Distribution and Filtering .

  1. 3.

    Remove the retainers and the engine undershield.

  1. 4.

    Remove the transmission fluid drain plug and allow the transmission fluid to drain. Install the drain plug.
    • Torque: 12 Nm (106 lb-in).

  1. 5.

    Remove the wiring retainers from the main control cover studbolts.

  1. 6.

    Loosen the clamp and disconnect the CAC outlet tube and position it aside.

  1. 7.

    Disconnect the transmission main electrical connector.

  1. 8.

    Remove the nuts and remove the transmission fluid thermal bypass valve from the main control cover studbolts.

    NOTE: Note the location of the studbolts for assembly.

  1. 9.
    Remove the main control cover bolts and the main control cover.
