Main Control Cover: Installation

- 1.
Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material. Refer to RTV Sealing Surface Cleaning and Preparation in Engine System General Information .
NOTE:
Do not use metal scrapers, wire brushes, power abrasive discs, or other abrasive means to clean sealing surfaces. These tools cause scratches and gouges which make leak paths.
- 3.
Install the main control cover on the transmission and install the 13 main control cover bolts.- Torque: 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
NOTE:
Install the studbolts in the locations noted during disassembly.
NOTE:
Inspect the main control-to-main control cover grommet to make sure that it seals on the inside of the main control cover or a transmission fluid leak will occur.
- 4.
Install the transmission fluid cooler thermal bypass valve on the main control cover studbolts and install the transmission fluid cooler thermal bypass valve bracket nuts.- Torque: 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
- 8.
Install the ACL. REFER to Intake Air Distribution and Filtering .
- 9.
Fill the transmission fluid. Refer to Transmission Fluid Drain and Refill .
