Starter Motor - 3.5L Ti-VCT: Installation

  1. 1.

    Position the starter motor and install the 2 stud bolts.
    • Tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).

  1. 2.

    Position the wiring harness and attach the wiring harness retainer to the starter motor stud bolt.

  1. 3.

    Install the starter motor solenoid wire terminal and the nut.
    • Tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).

  1. 4.

    Install the starter motor solenoid battery cable terminal and the nut.
    • Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).

  1. 5.

    Install the starter motor terminal cover.

  1. 6.

    Position the transmission manual control lever and install the nut.
    • Tighten to 18 Nm (159 lb-in).

  1. 7.

    Position the transmission cable and connect the transmission shift cable rotating slide snap.

  1. 8.

    Connect the transmission shift cable and adjustment lock to the transmission manual control lever.

  1. 9.

    Install the ACL assembly. REFER to Intake Air Distribution and Filtering .

  1. 10.

    Connect the battery ground cable. REFER to Battery, Mounting and Cables .
