PINPOINT TEST G : The Power Liftgate Does Not Power Open (Power Close Ok)
- G1 RETRIEVE THE DTCs FROM THE LTM
- Using a scan tool, perform the LTM self-test.
Are any LTM DTCs present?
Yes Refer to the LTM DTC Chart . No GO to G2. - G2 CHECK THE MANUAL OPERATION OF THE LIFTGATE
- Ignition ON.
- Turn the power liftgate off (disable) from the message center.
- Manually unlatch the liftgate. REFER to Handles, Locks, Latches and Entry Systems Without Intelligent Access (IA) .
Does the liftgate unlatch correctly?
Yes GO to G3. No INSTALL a new power liftgate latch. REFER to Handles, Locks, Latches and Entry Systems With Intelligent Access (IA) . - G3 CHECK THE MANUAL OPERATION OF THE LIFTGATE
- While manually opening and closing the liftgate, check the liftgate for:
- liftgate/wedge alignment
- strut operation (struts should push liftgate open when beyond half open)
- hinges (should move freely)
Does the liftgate open and close correctly?
Yes GO to G4. No REPAIR and ALIGN as necessary. Refer to Liftgate Alignment . - While manually opening and closing the liftgate, check the liftgate for:
- G4 CHECK THE LIFTGATE LATCH AND STRIKER ALIGNMENT
- Inspect the striker and latch for correct alignment.
Is the latch and striker aligned correctly?
Yes GO to Pinpoint Test A . No ALIGN the liftgate and striker. Refer to Liftgate Alignment .
