Removal And Installation: Liftgate: Installation
NOTE:
Manual liftgate shown, power liftgate similar.
- 1.
With the help of an assistant, position the liftgate to the vehicle and loosely install the liftgate-to-hinge bolts.
NOTE:
LH side shown, RH side similar.
- 2.
Install the liftgate supports.

- 3.
Tighten the liftgate-to-hinge bolts.
- Tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).

Route the liftgate wiring harness through the liftgate opening and install the boot.

Connect the liftgate latch electrical connectors.

Connect the license lamp electrical connector.

Connect the heated backlight electrical connectors.

Connect the center high mount stop lamp electrical connector.

Install the liftgate wiring harness pushpin retainers.
- 12.
Connect the rear washer hose and install the boot.

- 13.
Install the liftgate trim panel. REFER to Interior Trim and Ornamentation
.
- 14.
Install the liftgate opening weatherstrip.
- 15.
Install the liftgate ground strap and bolt.
- Tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).

- 16.
Adjust the liftgate to specification. Refer to Liftgate Alignment .
- 17.
For power liftgate application, initialize the power liftgate motor. Refer to Power Liftgate Initialization .
- 18.
For power liftgate application, program the liftgate opening height. Refer to Program Power Liftgate Open Height .
