Diagnostic Test

CHECK TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL
1. Check the Transmission Fluid level. Refer to FLUID AND FILTER, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  Is the Transmission Fluid at the proper level?
  
  Yes
  - Repair or replace the Transmission in accordance with the Service Information.
  - Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to 948TE-9HP48 TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Go To 2
FILL TRANSMISSION TO THE PROPER FLUID LEVEL AND PERFORM DRIVE TEST
1. Adjust Transmission Fluid to the proper level in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to FLUID AND FILTER, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
2. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
3. Perform the following Drive Test:
  1. Perform 10 coasting 5-4 downshifts within these conditions:
    1. Transmission is in DRIVE (cannot be in ERS, 4Low, Sport, etc).
    2. Steering angle less than 80 degrees.
    3. Barometer more than 11.6 psi.
    4. Transmission turbine (input) speed between 600-5000 rpm.
    5. Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) less than 1%
    6. Brake Pedal not applied.
    7. Not cornering.
    8. Transmission temperature is between 50°C (122°F)- 110°C (230°F).
4. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
  Did the DTC return?
  
  Yes
  - Repair or replace the Transmission in accordance with the Service Information.
  - Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to 948TE-9HP48 TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Repair the Transmission for fluid leaks in accordance with the Service Information.
  - Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to 948TE-9HP48 TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
