Diagnostic Test
- CHECK TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL
- Check the Transmission Fluid level. Refer to FLUID AND FILTER, STANDARD PROCEDURE

Is the Transmission Fluid at the proper level?
Yes
- Repair or replace the Transmission in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to 948TE-9HP48 TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 2
- Check the Transmission Fluid level. Refer to FLUID AND FILTER, STANDARD PROCEDURE

- FILL TRANSMISSION TO THE PROPER FLUID LEVEL AND PERFORM DRIVE TEST
- Adjust Transmission Fluid to the proper level in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to FLUID AND FILTER, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Perform the following Drive Test:
- Perform 10 coasting 5-4 downshifts within these conditions:
- Transmission is in DRIVE (cannot be in ERS, 4Low, Sport, etc).
- Steering angle less than 80 degrees.
- Barometer more than 11.6 psi.
- Transmission turbine (input) speed between 600-5000 rpm.
- Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) less than 1%
- Brake Pedal not applied.
- Not cornering.
- Transmission temperature is between 50°C (122°F)- 110°C (230°F).
- Perform 10 coasting 5-4 downshifts within these conditions:
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Repair or replace the Transmission in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to 948TE-9HP48 TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Repair the Transmission for fluid leaks in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to 948TE-9HP48 TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
