PINPOINT TEST I : The Roof Opening Panel Rattles

I1 CHECK THE ROOF OPENING PANEL TIGHTNESS

With the front sliding glass panel in the CLOSED position, manually push up and fore/aft on the front sliding glass panel and rear fixed glass panel.

Is the front sliding glass panel or rear fixed glass panel loose?

Yes	ALIGN the front sliding glass panel or rear fixed glass panel. Refer to Roof Opening Panel Alignment - Front or Refer to Roof Opening Panel Alignment - Rear .
No	GO to I2.

I2 CHECK THE ROOF OPENING PANEL TRACKS

Are the roof opening panel tracks OK?

Yes	GO to I3.
No	REMOVE all the roof opening panel track obstructions and REPAIR the roof opening panel tracks. If the roof opening panel tracks cannot be repaired, INSTALL a new roof opening panel frame. Refer to Roof Opening Panel Frame .

I3 CHECK THE ROOF OPENING PANEL WATER TROUGH AND TROUGH GUIDES

Check the roof opening panel water trough and trough guides for any loose debris or foreign material.

Are the roof opening panel water trough and trough guides installed securely and free from debris or foreign material?

Yes	GO to I4.
No	REMOVE all debris or foreign material from the roof opening panel water trough guides and install securely. INSTALL a new roof opening panel frame if the water trough guides are damaged. Refer to Roof Opening Panel - Exploded View and Refer to Roof Opening Panel Frame .

I4 CHECK THE ROOF OPENING PANEL SHADE ASSEMBLY FOR CORRECT INSTALLATION

Is the roof opening panel shade assembly installed correctly?

Yes	GO to I5.
No	INSTALL the roof opening panel shade assembly correctly. Refer to Roof Opening Panel Motor - Shade .

I5 CHECK THE AIR DEFLECTOR ASSEMBLY

Is the air deflector assembly OK?

Yes	GO to I6.
No	REMOVE all obstructions and REPAIR or INSTALL a new air deflector assembly. Refer to Air Deflector .

I6 CHECK ROOF OPENING PANEL FRAME ASSEMBLY

Lower the headliner and check all roof opening fasteners and components for correct torque and verify correct installation of the roof opening panel frame. Refer to Roof Opening Panel - Exploded View and Refer to Roof Opening Panel Frame .

Are the roof opening panel and components correctly installed and tightened to specification?

Yes	INSTALL a suitable sound damper material to correct the condition. If the rattle still persists, INSTALL a new roof opening panel frame. Refer to Roof Opening Panel - Exploded View and Refer to Roof Opening Panel Frame .
No	TIGHTEN the loose fasteners or REINSTALL the roof opening panel frame. Refer to Roof Opening Panel - Exploded View and Refer to Roof Opening Panel Frame .
